Lily 'Dizzy'
Lily 'Dizzy'
It is highly likely that the first thing you will notice when Lily 'Dizzy' is in bloom, is not its appearance, but its intoxicating fragrance. It's what makes this oriental lily so special. However, the look of the flower is just as impressive! Its trumpet-shaped blooms comprise six, pale pink, recurved petals, each with a rich maroon-purple stripe, and deep red speckles. Reaching around 120cm in height, a single, unbranched stem from a bulb will carry these blooms, as well as the narrow, pointed, mid-green leaves. If possible, choose a sheltered, sunny position, where Lily 'Dizzy' will grow to have its head in the sun and its roots in the shade.
Easy to grow, either in the border or in a patio container, this lily will reward you year-after-year, with an abundance of scent and colour. And, as with most oriental lilies, Lilium 'Dizzy' is an excellent choice for cut flowers. Cut the blooms when the first one opens; they last from 5-9 days in the vase.
